This original hand-coloured print depicts the Couvent de Potala in Lhasa in a dramatic mountain scene. It measures 7 × 10.5 inches; Drawing by Talyor after a drawing by Gruber published by Kircher in China Illustrata.

Background
The Potala Palace complex in Lhasa has served as the winter residence of successive Dalai Lamas since the mid-17th century, symbolising Tibet’s spiritual heart and showcasing its unique Himalayan architecture.
