This original hand-coloured print depicts four species of songbirds—Certhia familiaris (Creeper), Tichodroma muraria (Wall Creeper), Sitta europaea (Nuthatch), and Menura superba (Lyre bird)—in fine detail. It measures approximately 11 x 7.5 inches from 'Museum of Natural History' by Sir John Richardson. Published by William Mackenzie. Condition: good, general age-related toning. Please study image carefully. > A richly hand-coloured engraving showing the delicate brown and grey Creeper perched on a branch (labelled “1”), the striking red-marked Wall Creeper (“2”), the two-toned Nuthatch (“3”), and the elaborately feathered Lyre bird (“4”) with its fanned tail displaying filamentous plumes. > Title at top: “PASSERES.
