Antique hand-coloured engraving depicting two women in elaborate opera costume dress from the early 19th century. Features delicate watercolour tinting in soft blues, oranges, and earth tones with fine line work typical of period fashion illustrations. Page measures 5.5 × 9 in.
Printed on laid paper with visible chain lines and age-appropriate foxing spots throughout. Unrelated text and imagery present on reverse side with no show-through affecting the main illustration.
Great for theatre historians, costume designers, fashion enthusiasts, and collectors of period dress illustrations.
Condition. Fair. The intaglio image is on layered paper and attached to a card with another print on the reverse. No show through. Some foxing and discolouration consistent with age. Bottom right corner missing as can be seen from the image.
